It may be recalled that Pelli Choopulu director Tharun Bhascker openly condemned ‘IIFA’ for not rewarding small films. He publicly opined that small films are being ignored during most of the award functions and stated that stardom has overshadowed good cinema and talented technicians in Tollywood. These comments invited severe criticism from fans of star heroes.

Now, the young director is involved in yet another controversial issue. He is facing a severe backlash for his comments on NTR he made during a recent interview. It is heard that Tharun made humorous comments on NTR and the video has been clipped out and is being circulated as a propaganda against the actor.

Yesterday, Tharun took to Facebook to clarify on this issue. He said that he has utmost respect on NTR and has no intention whatsoever to comment on him. He also apologized to NTR and his fans for his comments.

But, NTR fans haven’t refrained from taking a dig at the director. They posted severe abuses in his Facebook page and also edited his Wikipedia page.

Responding on this severe backlash, Tharun said that he will give out an open apology to NTR and his fans through media. He pleaded fans to let the issue boil down.
