Reputed Journalist, Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted that his twitter account was hacked and he is deactivating his Twitter account for an indefinite period. Rajdeep and his journalist wife Sagarika have been target of right wing Twitter trolls from long time.
“There has been a campaign of abuse in last one week and it has been extremely personal, and apparently DMs have been sent from my account which I haven’t sent so I have informed Twitter about it. I have temporarily disabled the account till they sort out the issue and tell me what has to be done. If a police complaint has to be filed, it will be filed. Anyways this is a good break,” Sardesai told IndianExpress.com.
As per screenshots circulating on Twitter, Rajdeep was accused of making profane statements such as “Go ask your mother”. However, Rajdeep claimed that his account was hacked and he is not responsible for those tweets. Difference of opinions are welcome on Twitter, but many journalists and actors have claimed that they were personally targeted by a group of right wing Twitter trolls. Hope cyber law authorities take corrective actions.
