Megastar Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus period drama SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy is undoubtedly the most awaited tentpole film of Tollywood in 2019. The film, set in pre independence era, is carrying unprecedented expectations among audience and trade circles. The recently released teaser has taken the hype and hysteria to the next level.
As trade circles are betting big on this highly anticipated flick, producers are expecting tremendous business offers in Telugu states. Also, the film is likely to create ripples among overseas trade circles due to Chiranjeevi’s strong fan base and the fact that his previous film fared very well.
While SyeRaa is getting offers in the range of 20 Crores for overseas rights, its producers are expecting unrealistic price. Reportedly, they are expecting around 35 Crores for its theatrical rights in overseas which is very unreasonable. Even if the film is snapped for 20 Crores, it should collect more than 5 Million dollars to emerge as a safe venture and it will be a tall ask given the current market scenario in overseas.
Surender Reddy has a below par track record in overseas barring his previous film Dhruva. So, it remains to be seen if the producers change up their mind and quote a sensible price in overseas.
