Jai Simha has ended up it’s run worldwide with a distributor share of 27cr approx. The film is an Above average with good profits for buyers in Ceeded, East, UA, West, Nellore. Guntur and Krishna buyers have incurred minor losses. Best business for the film has come in UA as it has collected more than 3.50 crore. This is probably the first time in NBK’s career that his film has ended up as a profitable venture in UA but a loss venture in Guntur. The film did decent business in Nizam.

Jai Simha has a good first week with a worldwide distributor share of 23.28 Cr. This is third highest week for the hero behind Gautamiputra Satakarni which had collected 41.05 cr share and Legend which had collected 27.30 Cr. The film slowed down yesterday in the areas like Ceeded, Nizam where the festive period is over. Still it should have a decent second week as no other films have released this week. Theatrical rights of the film are valued at 27.50 Cr.

Nandamuri Balakrishna has a reputation for featuring in gravity-defying fight sequences. One particular scene in his latest outing Jai Simha is now going viral among audience and it even turned the attention of the Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra.

In one of the action episodes in Jai Simha, Balakrishna is seen lifting a stationed Bolero with a single hand challenging the villain opposite him. This particular scene is trending in social media and drew the attention of Anand Mahindra who gave a humourous reply in his sarcastic style.

He funnily replied that the service workshops of Mahindra no longer require any hydraulic lifts for doing Bolero check ups if they follow NBK’s style. The humourous reply is now trending in social media with hundreds of retweets and likes.

Usually, vehicle checkups and servicing are done using hydraulic lifts. But, Balakrishna’s over-the-top stunt has defied that logic and became a talking point among audience.

Sankranthi is one of the most preferred windows by Telugu filmmakers to release big ticket movies in order to capitalise on the holiday and festival season. Like the domestic audience, overseas moviegoers too lap up films bigtime during the festival season.

Last year’s Sankranthi saw three notable releases in the form of Khaidi No 150, Gauthamiputra Satakarni and Shatamanam Bhavathi. Much to the cheer of overseas trade circles, all three films performed on par with expectations and raked in good revenues. Khaidi No 150 collected close to $ 2.5 M and GPSK notched up $ 1.5 M. Shatamanam Bhavathi managed to collect $0.8 M. All three films collectively bagged $ 5M haul and emerged as decent hits at the overseas box office.

This year, it is a contrasting show by Sankranthi releases as all three films failed to make an impact at the overseas box office.

The distributors of Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi are staring at huge losses as the film failed to keep the cash registers ringing after a strong start. With close to $ 2M gross as of this writing, the Trivikram directional is heading towards becoming one of the biggest disasters of all time in overseas.

Balakrishna’s Jai Simha, which opened on a decent note, couldn’t improve its figures and managed to collect below par numbers in the first weekend. The film collected a meagre $ 200K till now.

Raj Tarun’s Rangula Ratnam, which is the third Sankranthi release, has no trace at the box office with inconsequential numbers on its first day.

So, with are three Sankranthi films underperforming at the overseas box office, trade circles are likely to incur huge looses.

Jai Simha Pre Release Trailer

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s action entertainer Jai Simha is all set for release on January 12th. The makers have unveiled a new trailer today and it seems to be an extension of the first trailer that was released during the audio launch event.

The new trailer once again projects that the film is going to be an out and out commercial potboiler and it is packed with formulaic elements like lengthy dialogues intended to warn the adversaries, silly romantic track with the female lead and gravity – defying action episodes which are just to glorify the hero’s image. The theme seems to be a long recurring one as most of the Balakrishna’s previous films are made up of a similar genre.

The new trailer offers nothing new, but Balakrishna looks fiery, energetic and is on a roaring mode. What remains to be seen is if the director manages to convince the audience with his narration despite sticking to the outmoded genre.

Gang: Suriya is all set for the release of his next film titled Thaana Serndha Koottam which has been directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film has been titled Gang in Telugu and Keerthy Suresh is the female lead. The film has been aimed for January 13th 2018 release and UV Creations is distributing the film across the Telugu states

Rangularatnam: Young actor Raj Tarun is testing his luck with his next film titled Rangularatnam. King Nagarjuna produced this romantic entertainer on Annapurna Studios banner. The makers locked January 14th 2018 as the release date and Raj Tarun will compete with all the star actors during the season. Nag will kick-start the promotions from next week.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film Jai Simha, which is gearing up for a grand release for Sankranthi, has wrapped up its shooting formalities a couple of weeks back. The recently released teaser, packed with NBK’s trademark dialogue, has clearly indicated that the film will be an out and out action drama with plenty of commercial elements.

The audio event will take place on a grand note today evening in Vijayawada. It is learnt that star director Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna’s son in law Nara Lokesh will grace the event to unveil the audio album comprising 5 songs. Also, a powerful trailer of 1 minute 58 seconds will be released during the event.

Coastal city Vizag is one of the most preferred places by Tollywood actors for shooting their films. NBK102 titled Jai Simha

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s forthcoming film is aiming for grand release during Sankranthi 2018. Experienced filmmaker KS Ravi Kumar is calling shots for this out and out action entertainer which has Nayanatara, Natasha Doshi and Hari Priya as the female leads.

According to the latest reports, the film has been titled as Jai Simha. Many titles have been making rounds in the industry circles ever since the project was launched. However, the makers have zeroed in a powerful title that will suit Balakrishna’s image.

The shooting formalities are nearing completion and the post production activities are in full swing. Chirantan Bhatt is composing the soundtrack for the film.
