    Talented director Sukumar is quite busy shooting for his next movie titled Rangasthalam 1995 in which Ramcharan is playing the lead role. Sukumar who is known for tricky narration and confusing concepts revealed that Rangasthalam will have no confusion throughout and it has been penned with utmost clarity. He said that the film is a clean village based romantic entertainer which has the same pace throughout.

    Sukumar even revealed that he is a man with huge confusion because of which he penned many confusing films. The shoot of Rangasthalam is taking place in Hyderabad in a hugely erected village set. Samantha is the female lead and Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Rangasthalam 1985 has been aimed for December release.

    Charan to step down for Pawan Kalyan

    Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is currently on a break and is spending time with his family in Dubai. The actor will return back after which he will fly to Europe for a month to shoot for his next film which is directed by Trivikram. Though the makers wanted to release the film during Diwali this year, considering the budget and the hype the film has been carrying, this untitled project will release during Sankranthi. However on the other side Charan who has been busy with Rangasthalam 1985 wanted the film to hit the screens for Sankranthi 2018.

    With Pawan aiming Sankranthi release, the makers of Rangasthalam 1985 are in plans to release the film during Christmas this year. Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel are the female leads in Pawan’s film which is yet to be titled. Anirudh is the music composer and S Radha Krishna is the producer. Pawan’s film will clash with Mahesh’s Bharat anu Nenu and Balakrishna’s Jayasimha which have been aimed for Sankranthi release. Pawan’s film will release on January 10th and the buyers have informed about this recently.

    Team Rangasthalam gear up to shoot in a 5 Crore worth set

    Ram Charan starrer Rangasthalam 1985, which is coming from the stables of Mythri Movie Makers, is a romantic period drama set in the 1980s. Directed by Sukumar, the film has Samantha as the female lead. After shooting extensively in the Godavari belt, the team is back in Hyderabad to wrap up the remaining portion.

    As per the latest reports, a massive set worth 5 Crores has been erected in Hyderabad. The set has been designed in a way to recreate the ambience of a village of 1980s. The unit will shoot non stop from the 24th this month for 35 days. Majority of the talkie part will be wrapped up with this major schedule.

    Adhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu are playing crucial roles in the film. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the tunes.

    Ram Charan has been busy shooting for his next film titled Rangasthalam which is touted to be a village based romantic drama. The movie’s satellite deal has been closed recently for a whopping price of Rs 16 crores. Now the digital rights of the film have been acquired by Amazon Prime for Rs 13 crores.

    Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling this prestigious project and their past films Srimanthudu and Janatha Garage ended up as blockbusters. There has been huge demand for the theatrical rights of the film all over and the makers are in plans to sell them for record prices for their regular distributors cashing the film’s craze. On the whole Rangasthalam is all set to leave the makers in huge profits even before the release. Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer and Rathnavelu is the cinematographer.

    Ram Charan shoots amid tough conditions for ‘Rangasthalam’

    Actor Ram Charan is braving tough conditions and shooting longer hours for upcoming Telugu rural-based romantic-drama “Rangasthalam”, a source said.

    “It has been the toughest schedule to shoot actually! The call times are all before sunrise and we are wrapping up only post sunset. So it’s long days,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

    Being directed by Sukumar, the film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

    The other day we were shooting a key sequence in the bushes and though Charan was bruised, he was the least complaining person. Instead, he called the ongoing schedule as the most satisfactory one,” the source said.

    The film’s shoot is currently underway in remote areas of Godavari district.

    The shoot will go on till the month end. Then, it will shift soon to grand sets that are being erected in Hyderabad. Art director Rama Krishna is currently taking care of the set works in the city,” he said.

    The film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad, also stars Aadi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu.

    Chiru Wasn’t Pleased With ‘Rangasthalam’ Title?

    The title of Ram Charan and Sukumar’s upcoming film was recently made official as ‘Rangasthalam’. The reaction for this title has been pretty mixed. While some said that it sounded like the title of a dubbed film, others called it as a fresh title. Somehow, everyone has now come to terms with this surprising title.

    Was it easy for Sukumar to select this old-fashioned title for a Ram Charan-starrer and convince everyone, especially Megastar Chiranjeevi? No, its not. It is heard that the intelligent director had to toil hard to get the nod of Megastar for ‘Rangasthalam’ title.

    At first, Chiru wasn’t pleased with the title and he called it old-fashioned. He was more inclined towards ‘Palletoori Monagadu’, which has a mass appeal to it. At one stage, Chiru even suggested Sukumar to choose a title from one of his earlier hit films if his intention was to convey 80s backdrop with the title itself.

    Sukumar however was adamant and he tried his best to explain Megastar why ‘Rangasthalam’ title was apt for the subject he had wished to narrate. Charan also supported Sukumar in this aspect. He was of the opinion that a fresh and completely unexpected title will shock fans initially but raise curiosity on the project eventually.

    As Charan and Sukumar were on the same page, Chiru gave his nod and the title was announced officially.

    Producers of Rangasthalam Disappointed With Sukumar

    A film in the unusual combination of Ram Charan and Sukumar generated curiosity among movie goers when it was first announced at the beginning of 2016. But, the subsequent happenings..or.. shall we say ‘No-happenings’ have killed people’s interest, and buzz is that producers are quite disappointed with Sukumar for his sluggish pace of work.

    Sukumar’s last film released in January 2016. After taking one full year to zero in the subject for his film starring Charan, Sukumar commenced pre-production work from January this year. A team of 10-15 Assistant Directors (AD) were hired to help him with the screenplay and shoot. Four months have passed and the intelligent director could shoot the film for only 20-odd days. Each AD charges around 1.2 lakh per month, and producers may have to pay them until Jan 2018.

    When the shooting was abruptly halted last month, producers, Mythri Movie Makers, had released an official press note to blame the extreme heat wave and assured the worrying fans that the shoot will resume from June 1. However, no progress on shooting front happened except the announcement of film’s title. Taking the sluggish pace Sukumar has been working at into account, producers, who earlier planed to release Rangasthalam for Dussehra, have announced Sankranthi 2018 release, a delay of four months.

    Blocking the dates of artistes for so long will be a herculean task for makers. Samantha will enter wedlock on October 6, she may not attend shoots at least from one month in advance. The pay for ADs, technicians and interests on finances etc. are also worrying the Producer, no wonder they are upset with Sukumar.
