Well known movie director Dasari Narayanarao is expected to join hands with Pawan Kalyan in the strengthening of Jana Sena party and help the power star’s foray into mainstream politics.
Dasari Narayana Rao, who was Congress Rajya Sabha member and union minister during UPA days has been inactive for quite some time. Though Dasari is very much interested in politics, he doesn’t find Congress as the right forum to move ahead in the changed circumstances, both at the centre and state.
Sometime back there was speculation, following YSRC Jaganmohan Redy’s meeting with Dasari, that he would join YSR Congress. The latest is that Dasari is under the impression that Pawan’s clean background will certainly make him right choice of the people in 2019. A senior Kapu politician associated with Dasari told telugu360.com that ‘Darshaka Ratna’ is seriously thinking of entering politics in 2019 and may be Jana Sena is his forum. An announcement is expected much before 2019 elections, he said.
“Dasari is planning to revive Udayam newspaper before the elections as the newspaper is necessary for his political work. In Andhra Pradesh all political parties have their own papers. So, lack of it would be a handicap in sending the message of the party across to intended people. Dasari will soon revive the newspaper, closed in 1990s. Pawan Kalyan is expected to help the revival of the paper,” he said.
Dasari campaigned for Congress in 2004 elections when YSR won the election with thumping majority. Satisfied with his performance, Congress president Sonia Gandhi took interest in promoting him as Kapu face of Congress and ensured that he was nominated to Rajya Sabha. Now, again he is expected take a plunge and campaign for Pawan Kalyan in 2019 elections both by touring the state and by making Udayam available for him.
” Once Pawan makes his political line clear, he would earn many enemies in politics and in the process, some newspaper establishments also will become hostile. Dasari thinks a newspaper is necessary, and the revival of Udayam, a popular title in later part of 1980s, is the best option ,” the sources said.
According to sources, there was no clarity on the timing of revival of the paper. “It is not clear whether newspaper would be revived before Dasari-Pawan proposed movie project or later,” the sources said.
