The Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission has sent a summons to YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for making offensive comments about women in the capital region. Commission Chairperson Rayapati Shaila said that Sajjala must appear in person and give an explanation for his statements, which have caused anger across the state.
The matter became more serious as other YSRCP leaders also continued making similar insulting remarks against women. Women from the capital area also met Chairperson Shaila and gave formal complaints. They demanded quick action against Sajjala, saying that no one should be allowed to use disrespectful language against women. They also requested that the Commission take steps to prevent such comments from spreading through TV channels, social media, and newspapers. They reminded that women’s dignity and self-respect are protected under Indian law, and anyone who insults women must be punished.
Chairperson Shaila explained that the Women’s Commission has the legal right to call anyone who faces complaints. The person must come and answer questions about what they said. The Commission will carry out a full investigation. They will also write to the DGP (Director General of Police) and demand a proper enquiry and legal action based on the complaints. Shaila has also taken the issue to the National Women’s Commission, showing how important and urgent the case is.
