Arka Media Works tent-pole film Baahubali : The Conclusion, sequel to 2015 smash hit Baahubali : The Beginning, has opened on a super strong note at the worldwide box office this week. The film debuted at No. 1 position in US as the premiers day gross breached the $ 3 Million mark, making it the first Indian film in the history to achieve the rare feat of emerging as the top grosser on Thursday emulating various Hollywood biggies like Fate and Furious, The Boss Baby and Beauty and the Beast.
The SS Rajamouli magnum opus is unstoppable in all territories of US and the first weekend figures are going to be mind boggling. Trade circles predicted the film to collect $7-8 million by the end of the first weekend, but considering the staggering start it is likely that the epic drama will notch up close to $ 9 million by Sunday evening. It looks like Baahubali 2 is poised to emerge as the top grossing Indian film in Overseas surpassing Aamir Khan’s Dangal.
The visual extravaganza is largely benefitted by SS Rajamouli’s arresting narration and career best performances from Prabhas and Anushka. Made on a lavish budget, Baahubali franchise also stars Rana, Ramya Krishna and Nazeer in important roles.
