Is there scope for TRS to poke its finger in AP polls?

The sensational comments by KCR’s son K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on TRS interference in AP polls have triggered wide discussions in political circles. Questions are being asked now as to what scope TRS has to poke its finger in Andhra politics as threatened by KTR. The significance of these threats are that KTR used a meeting of ‘Kapus’ to target the TDP and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu.

From the beginning, KCR and KTR are opposing the active involvement of CBN behind Prajakutami formation with support from the Congress, Telangana Jana Samiti and CPI. They are asking why CBN is poking his finger in Telangana polls. The TDP has got is cadres and presence in every segment in Telangana. Moreover, the TDP won 15 seats in 2014 elections in Telangana state despite the strong separate statehood sentiment in favour of TRS.

As regards the TRS scope for its role in AP politics, it has no cadre anywhere in the state nor are there considerable number of settlers from Telangana in AP to influence them. Analysts say the TRS can only provide secret support to the YSR Congress Party and the Jana Sena party of Pawan Kalyan. This has also triggered speculation on whether Jaganmohan Reddy and Pawan come together in AP at the time of polls. Will TRS play a role in bringing these two leaders together to take its revenge against TDP? TRS is pinning hopes on ‘Kapu settlers’ votes in segments like Kukatpally. It may be recalled Pawan has cordial relations with KCR though he has not openly asked his fans to support TRS.
