Express Raja is a road movie, has been shot in Hyderabad, Vizag and Nellore. In the film Sharwanand’s character is fast, is driven with speed. “I like the story when it is moving. Be in Venkatadri Express or Express Raja, I like the movement,” says director Merlapaka Gandhi. Oorvasi who is played a big role in Size Zero and in Jil is also playing a crucial role. She is one of the highlights in the film supported by Sapatagiri. The camera is handled by Karthik Ghattamneni and Praveen Lakkarju who scored music for Geetanjali and Shankarabharanam is doing the music for this film too. Surabhi is looking for a hit, she did Beeruva with Sandeep Kishan and did not work and now she hopes to entrench her position with Express Raja.
