BJP in Telangana seems to be making tactic moves to counter Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s eagerness to provide 12 per cent reservations to Muslims in education and employment, by invoking the issue of SCs categorisation. Already Madigas are in discontent over the government’s negligence towards this issue. They were unhappy as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was not responding to their please to initiate process for SCs categorisation, since inception of his government.

By demanding the Chief Minister to lead an all-party delegation to the Centre to urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps for the categorisation of SCs in the state, which is a long pending demand, BJP state president Dr K Lakshman has hinted out his party’s tactic move.

It may be recalled that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao was a strong supporter of SC categorisation during statehood movement. But after coming to power not only remaining silent on this issue and also even not showing interest to meet Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) promoter Manda Krishna Madiga. When the MRPS recently held a massive gathering in the city, only TRS was not present to express solidarity.

Krishna Madiga today branded Chief Minister as an `enemy to dalits’ and his regime has been resorting to repression of dalits. Alleging that KCR’s regime witnessing dalit’s fortunes went back over two decades.

Lakshman said that his party state unit has adopted a resolution urging the Centre to introduce a relevant bill in ensuing session of the Parliament in this regard. Questioning on the sincerity of the ruling TRS on this issue, BJP dared Chief Minister to join hands to bring this issue towards a logical conclusion. He said that the BJP had passed a resolution in favour of categorisation of SCs way back in 1996 during its Tirupati meeting held in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh state. Since then, BJP had been supporting the issue
