The Telangana government has constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the high profile drugs case linked to a farmhouse in Moinabad. The farmhouse belongs to former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy. The case has gained serious attention due to the involvement of political figures and businessmen.
The SIT will function under Chevella DCP Yogesh Gautham. Orders were issued by DGP Jitender to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation. The team will focus on three key areas. The first is the source of drugs and possible Dubai links. The second is the reported gun firing during the police raid. Investigators will determine whether it was an attempt to threaten officers. The third is the financial background of those involved, including suspected real estate links.
Police have already arrested Rohith Reddy along with Namit Sharma and Ritesh Reddy. A local court has remanded them for 14 days. Meanwhile, reports from forensic tests have raised fresh concerns. Samples collected from several accused tested positive for substances like cocaine, amphetamine, and methamphetamine. Officials believe this may not be a one time incident but part of a pattern.
One accused, Kaushik Ravi, reportedly admitted to sourcing cocaine from Shimla. Investigators suspect the quantity and usage details may not fully match his statement. The probe is now focused on uncovering a wider network.
With political tensions rising, the SIT investigation is expected to play a crucial role in exposing the full extent of this case.
