Chandrababu to invite Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong to Amravati

With National Green Tribunal (NGT) recently giving its nod for the construction of Amaravati, almost all the hurdles are gone. So CM Chandrababu Naidu has decided to invite Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to lay foundation stones for the construction of the new state capital Amaravati in the last week of January 2018.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is expected to visit India as one of the guests during the Republic Day celebrations scheduled on January 26, 2018 as invited by government of India. As Singapore government and industries are taking part in building Amaravati, CM Naidu planned to invite him to Amaravati during that time.

Singapore PM Lee is expected to participate in the foundation laying ceremonies for Amaravati’s administrative zone buildings like Assembly, Secretariat, etc. Andhra Pradesh government is also planning to invite some ministers of the Central government for the occasion. Singaporean Minister Iswaran, who is coordinating projects in Andhra Pradesh welcomed this recent NGT verdict. He hoped that Singapore PM Loong’s visit would further boost Singapore’s association with Andhra Pradesh and India.

AP leaders competing to pull off the greatest political faux pas

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been making two statements repetitively with hardly any headway. He iterates that “Amravati will be world class capital” and repeatedly advises his party leaders to “be cautious while speaking to the media”. It is evident that TDP leaders are competing to become a victim to media faux pas.

Slip-ups going viral significantly commenced with Jaleel Khan’s ‘B.com Physics’ to the latest K S Jawahar who said ‘Beer is a health drink’ becoming butt of jokes. While the leaders are recognized for infamous mistakes, they are losing prospects of respectable career. Jaleel Khan who was aspiring for a Cabinet berth had to give up the dream due to this slip-of-tongue.

Bhimavaram MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu became famous for his statement that for ‘20years he drank only milk and started eating solid food only after he was coerced by his relatives’. It was not restricted to MLAs and local leaders, but MP Sujana Chowdary made reckless statement that “Those who are getting inspired from Jallikattu can play Jallikattu or Cock Fights or Pig Fights”.

Bad statements definitely become popular stories. Minister of IT&C Nara Lokesh had given several such opportunities. Be it ‘will create water scarcity problem’ or ‘Jayanthi vardanthi’ mix-up. Even Chandrababu Naidu himself said that the ‘state tops in corruption’. While Lokesh and Chandrababu are sheltered despite mistakes to an extent that some media houses also protect them by writing counter stories. Not everyone in TDP are fortunate enough to be shielded. They have to face the ire of the TDP supremo.

Opposition YSR Congress Party also had may such gaffes. Jagan so far has been easy-going on such mistakes, because he himself has been a victim.

Social Networking platforms have become imperative in terms of the reach. Officials get sacked and common man gets arrested for any reckless statement on social media. Despite the peers being cautioned time and again, the number of solecisms in politics is only increasing. Nonetheless, Jawahar may sooner or later have to face repercussions for this statement. In the era of social media, tactless act or remarks are easy to make but hard to get out of it.
