Nayantara’s latest movie “Karthavyam” is dubbed version of Tamil movie “Aramm” directed by Gopi Nainar. This is his first film and got him critical acclaim as well as commercial success. However, people who follow Tamil movies know him much earlier than this movie. There is also a link for him with Chiru’s 150th movie.

Gopi Nainar, worked with Murugadoss as his assistant earlier. He worked for Vijay’s “Kathi” movie which was remade as Khaidi 150 in Telugu. In fact Gopi claimed, the story for Kathi was penned by him. He even filed a petition in court against Murugadoss for plagiarizing his script. In the complaint Gopi had claimed to be the former assistant of the director Murugadoss. But the Chennai City Civil Court has cleared the case in favour of AR Murugadoss that time. The court passed the final verdict that there is no such evidence found for Gopi’s claims and that made “Kathi” movie’s release smoother. Gopi was even ridiculed for claiming Murugadoss’s story.

Ridiculed a few years ago for claiming that the story of Kaththi, Gopi Nainar has come out of the shadows and focussed on his debut movie “Aramm” with Nayanthara in the lead role,and that has opened to rave reviews and good word of mouth. Aramm went on to become a blockbuster and milestone film in Nayan’s career.

As Aramm (Karthavyam) also talks about water problem in much more sensible way, people thought he might have worked for Kathi story as well as that also talks of same issue and moreover after seeing Gopi’s work many people actually believed his claim. So some scenes in Khaidi 150 might have been written by Gopi Nainar.

PS: There was one more writer – Narasimha who also claimed Kathi story and Khaidi 150 shooting was stopped to settle Narasimha’s claims and later he was taken into writer’s team of Khaidi 150.
