Union Minister for labour (independent charge) Bandaru Dattatreya has given a privilege motion against Congress member Jyotiraditya Scindia. Raising the matter in the Lok Sabha, the labour minister said Congress member by dragging his name into the HCU Rohit Vemula’s suicide controversy had tarnished his image. Dattatreya said Jyotiraditya had made accusations against him without going into the details of the letter he had written to the union HRD minister.
“There was no reference to Rohit in the letter I wrote to HRD Ministry. Jyotiraditya Scindia has tarnished my image,” Dattatreya said. Urging that his notice should be admitted, he alleged there was a deliberate attempt to malign him.
” I came from a humble background. Everybody knows about me in Secunderabad and the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Jyotiraditya Scindia’s remarks will damage reputation among the people of the state,” he said.
