Telangana state government has announced that there would be a bar for every 13,000 population. The government today announced the new excise policy for the urban areas ie Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and other municipal areas of Telangana.
1. The population of 2011 census shall be taken as basis for consideration.
2. One Bar will be granted for every 30,000 population in all the Municipal Corporations Municipalities / Nagar Panchayats i.e. For 30001 – 60000 population, eligibility would be two bars and so on.
3. In Hyderabad GHMC area, for every 13,000 population one bar will be granted and for an areas of with more than 13,000 population and up to 26,000 population, the eligibility would be two bars and so on.
4. New Bar licences will be continued to be granted to the restaurants run by 3 Star and above category hotels located in GHMC and other urban areas without any restrictions .
5. In case the number of applications filed for grant of bar licence is more than the permissible number of bars , the selection will be made on the basis of drawl of lots among all eligible applicants and in their presence duly stipulating a date time.
