Pawan Kalyan at Chenetha satyagraha, Padmasali garjana
Handloom weavers staged ‘Chenetha satyagraha – Padmasali garjana” at Mangalagiri in Guntur district under the leadership of All India Handloom Board member K.A.N. Murthy.Jana Sena party president Pawan Kalyan extending his support, visited the camp. The handloom sector is second biggest after agriculture. Kalyan spoke to the people and got to know the woes of the weavers.He offered lime juice to the almost 70 weavers who were on hunger and ended their fast.
K.A.N Murthy addressing the gathering said, “People say pawan kalyan doesn’t have required knowledge. But he knows the problems of handloom weavers and is well versed with handloom sector.”
The Jana Sena chief touched upon various points which include the problems of weavers, proposed solutions, special category status and Jana Sena’s strategy in the public meeting. Youngsters like always can relate to his speech very easily. Kalyan started off his speech by asserting his love for farmers, weavers and soldiers. He said, “Respecting handloom is respecting the country”. In his filmy style he said that –“people call them handloom labourers but I prefer to address them as handloom artists as handloom in itself is an art”. For the rest of the speech he addresses them as handloom artists.
Like any of his previous speeches where he talks about his childhood stories, in this address also Pawan Kalyan reminisced the days about his neighbours who were handloom weavers. He spoke about his first-hand experience regarding the suffrage of handloom.
The Jana Sena chief is a self-proclaimed brand ambassador for handloom. He said “I can endorse brands for crores of money. But I will be satisfied only when I stand by the people who need me” . He suggested few solutions to the problems of weavers –
After proposing solutions, Kalyan spoke at length about politics. He has indirectly commented on “Operation Akarsha” and political defections. He claimed that Jana Sena politicians have to face a lot of harsh conditions, if they fail they are not worth leading the party. He even quoted “Adversity reveals true character”.
Targeting TDP chief Naidu who supports his politicians, Kalyan said “My party leaders have to work for the people. I will question them if they don’t work for the welfare of the people and they are answerable”. He even deplored Naidu and Modi government that neither they gave Special category status, nor legal sanctity for special package. Kalyan asked the politicians to explain why they are unable to keep up their promises. The actor-turned politician said that Jana Sena’s political strategy will be announced on March14 and requested the people to pour in suggestions from all the sectors.
