YSR Congress Nagari MLA RK Roja will stage a dharna on August 19 at Nagari, Chittoor district demanding the removal of Nagari municipal commissioner Balaji for behaving rudely with chairperson and for his unseemly behavior with her family members. If there is no change in the government attitude towards commissisoner, the party has also plans to stage another dharna in front of CM’s residence in Hyderabad or camp office in Vijayawada.

The constituency has been witnessing a bitter rivalry between YSRC MLA Roja and TDP leder Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, now MLC. This is manifest in several forms. On Saturday, K J Kumar, husband of municipal chairperson Shantakumari (YSRC) was arrested. On August 14, her son was also arrested. Police barged into her house and arrested Kumar in connection with a case of assault on commissioner Balaji. YSRC alleges, Balaji is a tool in the hands of Gali and behaving like an active worker of TDP, hence the case, YSRC opines.
Party president Y S Jagan today spoke to Santhakumari and expressed solidarity to her and assured her of full support from the party.

“The commissioner was in an inebriated condition and fell down on his own. This is being projected as an attack on a government servant which is completely wrong. We will take this to the governor’s notice, ” Roja said in Hyderabad on Sunday.

She alleged that the municipal commissioner was known for his rude manners. “He has several cases pending against him. Still, no action has been taken against him as he enjoys TDP patronage. The cases foisted against the husband of Nagari municipal chairperson and others was instigated by TDP, and were false,” Roja said.
She pointed out how the entire staff had gone one three-day leave in protest against his commissioner’s harassment.

According to Roja,Kumar and others were booked in a false case even though they were not present at the alleged scene of action,
