In a significant development, students of a Model School come to the rescue of their principal, who was arrested in a sexual abuse case, on the complaint of an intermediate student.
All the students of Government Model School in Nereda of Kuravi mandal in Mahbubabad district, Telangana, today staged a dharna demanding the withdrawal of the case. The principal Nageshwara Rao has been remanded to judicial custody after the intermediate first year student approached the district collector complaining that he was misbehaving with her for some time.
She also alleged that the principal was sexually harassing her. The collector had initiated legal action and the principal was sent to remand last week. But, all the students of the school strongly refuted those allegations against the principal.
Students said that the principal has always been a father figure to them and never misbehaved with any student. Students locked the gates of the school stating that they won’t allow anyone inside until the collector issues orders for the withdrawal of the case against the principal.
