Loan defaulter Vijay Mallya was detained in the money laundering case on Tuesday and was immediately granted bail after providing surety and bail bond. As per the reports, Mallya was arrested after the Enforcement Directorate filed a new affidavit and provided fresh evidence in the London court.
He was arrested in April this year but was granted bail the same day.
India placed a formal extradition request with the UK for Mallya in February this year.The final hearing in Mallya’s extradition case is scheduled for December.
Mallya fled from India in March2016 to Britain as he was being hunted by the banks for defaulting 9000crore rupees.
