Telugu Association of North America (TANA) will hold its 22nd conference in Washington DC from July 4th to 6th 2019. The TANA conference leadership has taken various initiatives to attract participation at this conference, besides extending special invitations. It is indeed heartening to witness people take ownership of a variety of activities at the conference, such as, DhimTANA, CurieTANA competitions for school children and other sporting events like Volleyball, Throw ball, Badminton, Golf, Chess and cricket tournaments.

TANA always believed in the policy of “sport is the part of education”. The ever-agile association members, however, would not like to underestimate the importance of education. However, the dedicated members of the TANA are stressing the fact that education and sports are interlinked and it looks like a ship without a rudder for the children, if they are deprived of their sports activity, as the day progresses, while pursuing their education for career growth in right earnest.

Bearing this in mind, and the yeaning to work for all-round development of the society, irrespective of caste, creed, community and religion, TANA has decided to organize mega-sports events on various disciplines, comprising, cricket, volleyball, tennis (including youth), badminton, throw ball, chess, golf competitions in June, this year.

Needless to say, the association would be grateful to the advertisers and sponsors, who are inclined to associate with their meaningful project that will provide immense satisfaction, not only to the participants, but also to the people, who are ready to render their assistance to their association, in whichever way they deem fit and to the maximum extent possible.

TANA would also wish to inform you that their volunteers are working hard, as the proverb would remind us that there is no substitute for hard work, and with meticulous planning to include the participation of family members with joy and bubbling enthusiasm for the growth and prosperity of community development in the coming month. The association is also chalking out a plan to continue its noble activities, not only during the course of time, but also in the near future.

The spectators can be rest assured that they will be gladdened, as they will not be deprived of the impeccable standard of the sporting events to be displayed by our sports persons, possessing immense talent and known for their intrinsic ability and uncanny anticipation. TANA derives immense pleasure in announcing that there is no age and gender bar for participation in the sports events.

The cricket enthusiasts and fanatics of the game can make use of their hidden talents in their own inimitable style. With the World Cup cricket in progress at England, it will embolden the participants to display their mettle with redoubled vigor.

TANA would love to proclaim proudly that the association has also initiated measures for sponsoring a youth cricket tournament in June, this year, to encourage and promote the budding and upcoming stars in cricket and by expanding the growing popularity of the game all over the world, slowly, steadily and surely.

Not, but not the least. TANA has also taken a decision to focus on the skills of Volleyball players, too. Accordingly, the association has arranged for a grand-gala tournament on coming June 15 for the participants and the spectators to enjoy and mutually reciprocate each and every minute of the popular sport with their family.

It is imperative on the part of TANA to inspire and urge the youth to take sports as their career and gearing them up for qualification of the Olympics to be staged in Tokyo next year. The association would like to reiterate that such sporting events would promote the community development, as well as, for the growth of the society in a phased and fabulous manner.
