Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao urged the people of Hyderabad not to be carried over by the campaign of TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and vote only for TRS.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting tonight in Hyderabad, Rao said Naidu had no business in Hyderabad and asked the Andhra Pradesh chief minister to concentrate in the development of his state.
” People have given the verdict asking us to work in respective states- you in Andhra Pradesh, me in Telangana. You have many bazars from Hindupur to Itchapuram to clean. We can clean our bazars ourselves, ” he said.
Ridiculing Naidu, who claimed that every inch of Hyderabad had his mark, the Telangana CM said the present sorry state of affairs was the inheritance of Congress and TDP regimes.” There were no drains, no adequate water supply, power shortage, no vegetable markets and public conveniences at the time formation Telangana. This is Naidu’s mark. We are planning to resolve all these issue,” he said adding that Telangana government proved the doomsaying of CMs like Kirakumar Reddy wrong. “Kirankumar Reddy said Telangana would plunge into darkness if the state is divided. What happened? In less than two years, we have successfully solved the power crisis,” the CM said.
KCR devoted more time to taking dig at Chandrababu Naidu and advised him not to think of too much of Hyderabad.” What would you do to Hyderabad city even if you won the election? What is there in your hands. You are a chief minister of a neighboring state,” he reminded. He questioned Naidu’s oft repeated refrain that he would not leave Hyderabad and asked Naidu to tell did anybody ask you to leave?
“You can stay here and set up a dozen Heritage shops a do business,” he advised. KCR was all praise of Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari and called her sister-in-law (vadina). She was wise, KCR said, so she didn’t want to leave Hyderabad and wanted to oversee her business from Hyderabad itself.
” The other day, when our people called on her while campaigning, she assured that she would vote for TRS. I am hopeful she will vote for TRS.” Rao said to thunderous applause.Though Rao did not unleash his natural sarcastic style while attacking Naidu, he did say Naidu conspired once and scuttled the formation of Telangana when Rosaiah was chief minister. He assured people Telangana full blown development with proper drains and hygienic drinking water by spending about Rs 25,000 cr. In the same breath he urged the people to use their wisdom and assess the histories of other parties before voting.
” You know Congress pretty well. TDP is also not unknown to you. What Congress did in 40 years and TDP in 20 years is before you. You have seen the TRS governance in the past 18 months. Vote for TRS which realized the dream of Telangana state,” he said.
