While central investigation agencies are busy to probe in depth into source of former TTD Trustee Board member Sekhar Reddy’s `income sources’, the main opposition YSRCP accusing him as a benami of `supreme power brokers’ of both Tamil Nadu and Andrha Pradesh.
It may be recalled that IT officials arrested Sekhar Reddy and three of his associates in Chennai after a massive seizure of over Rs 150 crore worth currency notes and gold bars. Both CBI and ED officials are also now involved in investigation. Today they have grilled Sekhar Reddy’s wife and seized `many more valuable’ documents.
YSRCP senior leader Ambati Rambabu accused in Guntur that Reddy was a `benami’ operator for Sasikala, Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh. Otherwise, he demanded to reveal on what basis and whose recommendation Reddy was nominated to the TTD Trust Board by his government.
He also expressed apprehension that as a `benami’ of those leaders only, Reddy started exchanging old notes and in the process attracted ire of the IT officials.
He also found `high drama’ behind Chandrababu Naidu’s cancellation of his visit to UAE and Kuwait, scheduled to be from today. Naidu said yesterday that he was cancelling his trip to the Gulf in view of cyclonic storm threat to the state. “I will constantly monitor the situation from the command and control centre in Vijayawada”, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu is known more as an `event manager’. Whenever natural calamities occurs, he used to rush into action, without giving scope to the scope to swing into quick action. But, Rambabu felt that Naidu deferred with his Gulf trip only to convert his black money further into white.
`Probably exposure of Sekhar Reddy’s operations may create doubt in the mind of the chief minister that in his absence his operations also may face some hurdles’, he added.
