While promotions are in full swing for Cheekati Rajyam, it is alleged that the core emotion is not strong in the story despite a competent team. Kamal Haasan had already announced that it is a remake of the French Film Sleepless Night.The film is releasing on the 12th November and the it reportedly went through four months of pre production.
Kamal Haasan plays a cop whose daughter is kidnapped by a drug dealer (played by Prakash Raj). It is directed by his associate Rajesh Selva and has Telugu actor Madhu Shalini playing one of the roles. Trisha and Kishore are part of the team. Cheekati Rajyam is releasing as Thoongavanam in Chennai and has got a U/A certificate. It has been a while since a Kamal film released, full opening collections are expected.
