Young director Nag Ashwin has been working on the biopic of legendary actress Savitri from the past couple of years. The movie has been titled Mahanati and will be made on a massive budget. Ashwin found it as a challenge to rope in the actors that fit into the roles of the lead actors in the movie. After many speculations, Keerthy Suresh has been locked to reprise the legendary actress on screen and Samantha will be seen in a crucial role. The entire pre-production work of Mahanati has been wrapped up recently.
The movie will start its regular shoot proceedings from May 10th in Hyderabad. Massive sets have been erected for the film and Dulquer Salman has been roped in to play Gemini Ganeshan in the movie. Anushka and Prakashraj have been locked for other prominent roles. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, Mahanati will hit the screens during summer next year.
