Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan’s trilingual comedy “Sabash Naidu“, which came to an abrupt halt last July after the 62-year old star slipped and fractured his leg, has not been shelved.

The film, a spin-off of the popular character Balram Naidu from Haasan’s 2010 Tamil comedy aceDasavatharam”, also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam and Saurabh Shukla.

“The project is definitely not shelved. It’s taking time to get back on floors because Kamal sir is not fully healed, and has a limp. It has been postponed indefinitely for now as it can’t be said certainly when it will resume,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Haasan is directing the film, which has music by maestro Ilayaraja.

The source added that the postponement is indefinite

“Even if the team decides to resume shooting from next week, it will still take time because visas have to be arranged for the American crew, and that will easily take another six-eight weeks. Moreover, the rest of the Indian cast is busy with their other commitments. It’s not going to be easy to get dates from them,” said the source.

The project, which is being bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films, is simultaneously being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
