Mahanati makers waiting for Nani’s nod

That a biopic on the life of legendary yesteryear heroine Savitri is in the making is a known news. Happening beauty Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in this film which also features a slew of notable actors in important roles.

Ever since the biopic started rolling, there has been utmost suspense on who will reprise the roles of NTR and ANR, the two contemporary actors of Savitri. Initially, there were reports that Jr NTR and Naga Chaitanya have been approached for these two iconic roles. However, both actors have refused to act in their grand fathers’ roles.

So, the makers have approached Natural star Nani to play NTR’s role. With the shooting portions of all other characters nearing completion, the team is waiting for Nani’s nod to wrap up the shooting formalities. It remains to be seen if Nani agrees to come on board.

Mahanati is slated for Summer release. Aswini Dutt is bankrolling the film and Nag Ashwin is the director.
