The audio launch of Mahanati, the much awaited biopic on actress Savitri, has been held in Hyderabad. NTR and Nagarjuna attended the event as chief guests.
Speaking at the event, NTR hailed Savitri as the humdinger of film industry and commented that none of the present generation actors really have the status and stature to talk about her greatness.
Life like Savitri’s is a lesson and inspiration to posterity and bringing it in the form a feature film is no mean task, added NTR. He said it is director Nag Aswhin’s immense adulation as fanboy of Savitri than his craft experience that inspired him to accept this big challenge.
He also lauded the star cast, Keerthi Suresh, Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda and Dulqueer Salmaan for having the courage to portray the iconic characters in this historic film. He also opined nature played a big part in bringing all these artists on board
NTR appreciated producer Aswini Dutt and his daughters for making director’s Nag Aswhin’s dream into a reality.
Revealing the reasons for not accepting the offer to reprise his grandfather NTR’s role in this biopic, NTR said he doesn’t really have the guts and talent to step into the shoes of the legendary actor.
Concluding his speech, NTR asserted Mahanati will definitely earn huge respect for every woman and expressed hope that the atrocities on them will end after the release of this film.
