Setback for BJP and Congress govt restored in Arunachal Pradesh

0

In a major setback to the BJP, Supreme Court ordered the restoration of congress led Arunachal Pradesh government. After the news came out, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting with ministers and solicited their views in this situation.

This is second time in a year BJP government failed miserably in SC while toppling governments. In May 2016, SC reordered floor tests in Uttarakhand that restored congress government. Now, congress lambasting BJP over undemocratic tactics used by ruling party to topple congress led governments in the country.

In Arunachal Pradesh, 14 congress MLAs were disqualified by speaker on December 15th, 2015. The rebel MLAs led by former finance minister of state Kalikho Pul, who was expelled for anti-party activities in April, 2015, along with BJP MLAs convened assembly proceedings chaired by Deputy speaker in hotel and elected Pul as Chief Minister. Later on Union cabinet recommended president role which was lifted in February 18, 2016 and paved way for formation of new government with Pul as Chief Minister.

SC verdict came in favour of Nabam Tuki led congress government. After hours of SC verdict, Former congress chief minister Nabam Tuki assumes office. BJP should refrain from impeaching sovereign elected governments by way of influences. Otherwise this type of humiliation can’t be avoided.
