Swamijis’ eye on ‘Raja’ Yoga in Karnataka

After Yogi Adityanath, the politician turned Swamy and Chief Minister of Utter Pradesh, now it seemed to be the turn of many Swamijis in Karnataka in upcoming elections. While the Bharatiya Janatha Party has already announced 10 Swamijis as its candidates, other political parties including congress has started searches for suitable Swamiji as its candidates. The ongoing circumstances in Karnataka are making it clear that a Yogi will be the future Chief Minister for the state.

Yogi Adityanath was a priest at a temple in Utter Pradesh and later established an Ashram. He entered into politics while continuing his deexa and stepped into parliament later became Chief Minister.

During his recent visit to Karnataka, many Swamijis across the state have been attracted by him and starting raising their voice on establishing good administration with moral values (Dharma Sanstapana).

They are saying that politicians forgot their responsibility and forgot public. Swamijis are criticizing politicians stating that they are ineligible in serving people now and announced that it is the time for their entry into politics.

Few Swamijis including head of Madara Guru Peeth (Chitradurg) Swamy Chennaiah, head of Gurupura Vajradehi Mutt (Mangalore) Swamy Rajasekharananda, Dharwada Managunda Basavananda Swamy have already announced that they would be aspirants in upcoming elections. They are now searching for suitable constituency for contesting the elections.

Even political parties other than BJP like JDU and Congress are also planning to gain the support from public as well as the followers of prominent Swamijis. BJP has announced that as many as 10 Swamijis from Karnataka would contest in upcoming elections. Heads from six mutts in North Karnataka and Coastal districts are seriously trying for BJP’s ticket. Union Minister Anantakumar Hegde is coordinating Party’s high command and Swamijis.

Besides this, political parties are seeking blessings of heads of Mutts in Karnataka. Politicians are queuing up at the ashram of the head of Adichunchanagiri Mutt Doctor Nirmalanandanath Swami for his blessings. He is from Vakkaliga community. BJP National President Mr. Amit Shah has already visited the mutt followed by Karnataka Congress Affairs Incharge Venugopal, KPCC President Parameswar. It is a frequent visiting place for the National President of JDU Mr. Deve Gouda and its state president Kumara Swamy.
