Aadhaar body clarifies on Telangana government actions

0

The Unique Identification Authority of India has announced that the IT Grids company had not robbed any data from their Central Identities Data Repository of Aadhaar. TDP National Spokesman Lanka Dinakar said that the Aadhaar institution’s clarification was proof enough for how the Telangana government hatched a conspiracy along with the YSR Congress Party to defeat the Telugu Desam Party in the April 11 AP Assembly election.

The Special Investigation Team set up by Telangana TRS government charged the IT Grid company with stealing data a few weeks ago. In the name of raids, the Telangana government took TDP members data from the IT Grids servers and handed over the same to the YCP. This was part of the conspiracy to delete 8 lakh TDP members votes from the lists.

Mr Dinakar said that it was only by using a similar conspiracy in Telangana that the KCR government got 25 lakh voters’ names deleted which helped it to come to power through the backdoor. The Telugu Desam Party had immediately taken preventive measures and foiled the plans of the rivals who wanted to defeat the TDP by unlawful means.

Aadhar for newborns in Andhra Pradesh

0

The Aadhar card system is expanding its wings in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has decided to use the Aadhar card for multi-purpose and has started to work actively in that direction. Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar, UIDAI officers from Delhi and officials from the departments of state held discussions on Friday.

Aadhar card system, which is being used to deliver the welfare schemes in the state, will soon commence operations at private hospitals and public hospitals. Officials have brought to the notice of the government that only 97 per cent people in AP have Aadhar card, as there is no registration procedure for newly born infants.

With the Government keen on initiating the process of issuing Aadhar card for new-borns in hospitals, the CS reportedly held discussions with Hyderabad Aadhar Deputy Director General Rami Reddy. Likewise, the facilities to be provided in the process of issuing new Aadhar cards was also discussed.

The final decision on the issue will be disclosed after conducting discussions with the Chief Minister. In AP, there are 810 Aadhar card registration centres in the state with 5.12 crore Aadhar card holders. The districts of Anantapur, East Godavari and Srikakulam districts accounted for 100% of Aadhar enrolment.

YSRC: Aadhar Linkage Robs Poor of Benefits

0

YSR Congress accused the TDP government of conspiring to cut benefits to poor from the schemes launched by YSR government between 2004 and 2009 by insisting on the Aadhar linkage. This ultimately is to discontinue the welfare schemes of YSR, the party alleged.

Insisting on linking of Aadhar cards to welfare schemes was against the verdict of Supreme Court on the issue, the party said.

“The Supreme Court of India ruled against linking Aadhar to welfare schemes. Yet, state cabinet took decision to link Aadhar to all welfare schemes apparently to dilute the welfare schemes introduced by YSR,” Party SC Cell President Merugu Nagarjuna told reporters here on Monday.

He reminded that Naidu vociferously opposed the Aadhar linkage while in Opposition in 2013. But, after assuming power he took an U-turn exposing his double standards.

The decision, with on stroke, make lakhs of people who do not possess Aadhar card ineligible to get benefits from welfare schemes.

“Such decisions taken by the cabinet are anti-people and are aimed at only bringing down the number of beneficiaries of which weaker sections form the major chunk”, he said.

YSRC urged the state government to revoke the decision and respect the apex court verdict.
