Popular music composer Devi Sri Prasad is bereaved of his father Satya Murthy who passed away in the wee hours on Monday following a cardiac arrest in Chennai. He suffered a heart stroke and was declared dead by the doctors in a private hospital.

Satya Murthy is a popular writer and penned scripts for nearly 100 films. His notable works include Pedarayudu, Abhilasa, Khaidi 786, Shatruvu etc. The last rites will be performed in Chennai today evening. South Indian film fraternity offered respects to the deceased through their social networking pages.

Satya Murthy is survived by two sons and a daughter. Devi Sri Prasad is the elder one and his brother Sagar is a popular singer.
