Jayaprada breaks down recalling past harassment, threats

0

Yesteryear heroine and former MP Jayaprada started weeping as soon as she recalled those horrible days when she was forced to leave Rampur. Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan threatened me with an acid attack if I don’t leave Rampur, said Jayaprada, who is contesting as MP candidate for the fourth time from Rampur Lok Sabha constituency.

Jayaprada during an election public rally in Rampur constituency, Uttar Pradesh, narrated how she was pushed out of her constituency. The actor-turned-politician received grand support from public and BJP leaders who continuously shouted: “Jayapradaji sangharsh karo, hum aapke saath hai.” When this is translated into English, it reads, Mrs Jayaprada you continue your fight and we’re with you.

Jayaprada offered prayers in a temple in Rampur before filing her nomination. The former MP, who’s celebrating her 57th birthday, said BJP has given me my birthday gift by fielding me in Rampur constituency. “I received threatening calls before joining BJP. But, I strongly decided to join BJP and this is an ideal platform to serve Rampur people. The reason for leaving Rampur was the threat from Azam Khan, who cautioned me with an acid attack if I don’t leave Rampur. Now, I have BJP strength behind me and I have the support of Rampur people. I don’t need to cry once again.”

Jayaprada won as Lok Sabha candidate from Rampur constituency in 2004 and 2009 on SP ticket. However, she lost to Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate in 2014 election. SP is fielding Azam Khan against Jayaprada. Interestingly, Azam Khan is the person, who campaigned for Jayaprada in the 2004 elections. Subsequently, political equations changed drastically and friends became foes in Rampur constituency.

TDP jokes on Jagan predicting Modi’s victory?

0

Is Jaganmohan Reddy more worried over who comes to power at the Centre? Does the YCP President care less about his own election in AP? The TDP is cracking jokes at the sudden love and affection shown by Jagan towards the BJP government. They say Jagan is literally terrified of any prospect of the Congress or its alliance coming to power at the Centre. That will definitely begin a witch hunt against Jagan who has 11 CBI illegal assets cases against him and also facing ED investigation.

Jagan confidently told national media that Rahul Gandhi chose to contest from the South as well because of his fears of losing in Amethi. Analysts say Jagan is obviously happy over the weaknesses of the Congress rather than his own party’s immediate prospects in AP. He has indicated his party’s unconditional support to Modi after the 2019 election. What’s Jaganmohan Reddy’s hurry to almost pledge his support to Modi indirectly? There are many surveys in favour of the second term for Modi as the anti-BJP coalition is still not strong. Jagan is desperate to get the support of the future PM for bailing him out from the CBI and ED cases. His prayers are only for anti-Modi parties not getting an upper hand in the coming days.

What made Vijayashanti, VH engage in war of words?

0

Congress star campaigner Vijayashanti and former PCC president V Hanumantha Rao, popularly known as VH, were publicly seen in a row over disagreeing on something and trying to stop each other from making a public speech. This incident took place during a road show of Congress party at Gajwel, Sddipet district.

Congress party has turned keen on Gajwel constituency, the home constituency of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, and has deployed all its senior leaders and star campaigners in Medak Lok Sabha constituency, where Anilkumar is contesting from the grand old party.

Congress is known for internal democracy and Gandhibhavan has been witnessing such freedom of leaders, who often disagree with others and resort to protest against decisions of TPCC.

For an unknown reason, Vijayashanti and VH had a war of words on the vehicle top during the roadshow. As a result, both the leaders Vijayashanti and Kusumkumar left the roadshow abruptly. When the Congress MP candidate Anil Kumar got a chance to speak, there’s no public to hear the speech.

“It’s nothing major. Several senior leaders were participating in the roadshow. So, to get every leader to speak, all the leaders already told to speak briefly. Vijayashanti, working president Kusumkumar, Ramulu Naik and other leaders spoke. When VH got his turn to speak, Vijayashanti asked him to finish the speech quickly. But, VH got angry over it and questioned Vijayashanti for disturbing him. This confrontation led to a bit of exchanging of words. Vijayashanti and Kusumkumar immediately withdrew from the roadshow,” said a leader, who took part in the roadshow.

Telugu360 Survey – YCP retains grip in Kadapa district

The Telugu360 Survey in Kadapa district revealed new trends in voter mood. The YCP will not get huge majorities any longer but it will continue to retain its grip in most segments. The so-called YSR sentiment has come down drastically when compared to 2014. The TDP government’s development programmes and Pasupu Kumkuma and pensions created some impact.

YS Jaganmohan Reddy has favorable winds in Pulivendula which is the YSR family’s long-held fort. From MPTCs to MPPs, all people’s representatives down the line belong to the YCP. But everybody is talking about how Jagan will get far less majority this time. TDP has done a lot to earn goodwill here by supplying irrigation water for the first time and filling all the tanks. TDP candidate Satish Reddy fulfilled his promise in this respect with blessings from CM Naidu and removed his beard as per his vow which became popular here.

In Kamalapuram segment, Jagan’s maternal uncle Ravindranath Reddy is facing a tough fight this time. In 2014, he won with a majority of 5000. The TDP puts hopes on pensions and women-centric welfare programmes here. TDP rebel candidate is ruining its chances in Badwel SC segment. Muslims are still supporting YCP in Rayachoti. In Mydukuru, the TDP fielded BC leader Putta Sudhakar Yadav to polarise non-Reddy voters in its support. The TDP fielded Balija candidates to win Rajampeta and Railway Kodur segments.

In all, the YCP has greater chances in Badwel, Kadapa, Mydukuru, Proddaturu, Pulivendula and Rayachoti. The TDP is stronger in Jammalamadugu, Kamalapuram, Rajampeta and Railway Kodur.

Shocking results of MLC elections: Should TRS learn any lesson for LS elections?

0

Graduates and Teachers gave shocker to TRS party that has been on cloud 9 since it’s victory in 2018 assembly election results. Three leaders supported by TRS were defeated in this elections and this result was not predicted by any media.

Narsi Reddy has won from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ constituency defeating sitting MLC Poola Ravinder. Poola Ravinder was supported by TRS party. Another leader K Raghotham Reddy won from Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad-Medak teachers’ constituency by defeating former MLC Paturi Sudhakar Reddy, who was supported by TRS party. Senior Congress leader and former minister T Jeevan Reddy got elected from Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad-Medak graduates’ constituency by defeating Chandrashekhar Goud of TRS.

Students, Graduates and Employees:

There have been reports even during Telangana election that students and employees are not happy with TRS even though farmers and rural voters are very happy with his rule. But, as rural voters usually outsmart urban and educated voters most of the times, the voice of students, graduates and employees were not heard loudly during assembly elections. Students from Osmania University and other places have been raising voice against the TRS government for not being able to create sufficient new jobs during their tenure 2014-18.

People are fed up with defections:

Moreover, KCR encouraging defections into TRS despite getting thumping majority also not going well with urban and educated voters. During the earlier rule, KCR was able to justify the defections saying there is a threat to the government by opposition parties who are planning to join hands together. But encouraging defections even after getting 88 out of 119 seats is not justifiable in any way.

Seemandhra voters:

If KCR doesn’t pay heed to these voices now, he may have to pay the price in Lok Sabha elections. Even though KTR and KCR are saying they will win 15 or 16 seats in upcoming LS elections, the picture is not that rosy as revealed during MLC elections. Moreover, astounding victory in 2018 assembly elections was partially attributable to the failed experiment of TDP-Congress alliance. Especially in Hyderabad, Seemandhra voters who are not happy with CBN voted to TRS. Now TDP factor is not there and some sections of Seemandhra voters are not happy with TRS interference in AP politics. If TRS supremo continues his unilateral policies, he may get shocker from not only students, graduates and employees, but also from Seemandhra voters.

We will have to wait and see whether this anti-mood on KCR will reflect in Lok Sabha elections as well in some constituencies.

SPY Reddy son-in-law clarifies on getting 4 seats from Janasena

0

SPY Reddy son-in-law Sridhar Reddy today clarifies on getting 4 seats from Janasena just within a couple of days after joining in Janasena party.

Sridhar Reddy, the Janasena party contestant from Nandyala assembly seat, told that Janasena had already finalized a few candidates before they joined that party for these constituencies. However, the leaders whom Pawan Kalyan team had finalized stepped back after they got serious threatening calls from local politicians from other parties. So Pawan Kalyan wanted to give these tickets to someone who is strong enough to fight with the leaders of the other two parties. And it is only then SPY Reddy family approached Pawan Kalyan and told that they are ready to put their whole efforts and give a very tough fight to the other two parties. Pawan Kalyan got convinced with them and gave them four seats – Nandyala MP ticket to SPY Reddy, Nandyala MLA ticket to his son in law Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, srisailam ticket to his daughter sujala, banaganapally ticket to his another daughter Arvind Rani.

But Sridhar Reddy condemned that news and told that they are fighting tooth and nail to win a maximum of these four seats.

As per the latest reports, these four seats will really have a tough triangular fight.

CEC joins list of CBI, ED, IT etc – Demolition drive continues

1

The past six months have opened a new chapter in the history of Centre-State relations in India. AP people have seen how the national institutions like the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, etc have conducted raids on the targetted leaders and their associates belonging to the non-BJP parties. TDP boss and CM Chandrababu Naidu has blamed PM Modi for misusing and demolishing the national organisations to harass rival political parties.

Now the Central Election Commission (CEC) has also jointed the list of these national institutions which are being rampantly misused by the BJP government at the Centre. Within hours of complaints made by BJP’s secret partner YCP, the CEC has transferred Director General (Intelligence) AB Venkateswara Rao and two SPs and asked the TDP government to suggest new officials in their place. The transfers were made after YCP complained that these IPS officers are working in favour of the ruling TDP. The move is being criticised by different sections as to how an important pillar of democracy like the CEC has also surrendered to the Central government’s arm twisting methods.

This is the first time in the history of the country’s electoral politics that the IPS transfers were effected so arbitrarily just based on the complaints of an Opposition party in a state. Analysts say this is nothing but the continuation of demolition drive against the national institutions to take ‘absolute power’.
