Final report : Mersal First Half is Good with commercial elements and message oriented . Second half is story based, flashback may gets you bored, again the climax is Good
Positives :
- Vijay’s three shades are major highlight , he acted with ease
- Grand first half Europe Visuals
- Message oriented story

Negatives :
- Cliched story in second half
- Heavy Tamil nativity in flashback( For dubbing versions this is negative , but in Tamil it works )
- Songs could have been better , They are just above average
Verdict : Mersal is appreciable film for its hard hitting take on medical system. Its a minimum guarantee film in Tamil , range depends on how dragged sentiment scenes would be received by audience

Tamil biggie Mersal, which has Vijay playing a triple role, is all set for a grand release today. All eyes are on this action entertainer because this is the first film after the Tamil Nadu government has revised the ticket prices after a decade.
Directed by Atlee, which is Vijay’s second collaboration with him after Theri, the film has Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nitya Menon as the heroines. Baahubali fame writer K.V. Vijayendra Prasad has assisted in the script work and screenplay of this film. AR Rahman has rendered the soundtrack.
After much ado regarding the completion of censor formalities, Mersal is all ready to take the box office by storm from today. Tamil trade circles are eagerly waiting for Mersal as they are in need of a much needed hit this season.
