Who is that lucky young director to direct Nagarjuna ?

Both as producer and actor, Akkineni Nagarjuna has always encouraged fresh talent. Besides working with new directors, he also introduced many technicians through his production house. Once again he is likely to work with a young director. Currently busy wrapping up Raju Gari Gadhi 2, Nagarjuna is yet to formally announce his next project.

As per the latest reports in the industry circles, Nagarjuna has green signalled the script narrated by a young director. Though the name of the director has been kept under wraps, it is learnt that Nagarjuna has locked the director and will announce it very soon. Young and talented filmmaker Virinchi Varma’s name is being widely speculated in the media circles. However, we have to wait for an official confirmation in this regard.

Kalyan Krishna of SCN and RRVC fame and Chandoo Mondeti are also working on scripts for Nagarjuna. So, it remains to be seen who is that lucky director to call shots for Nag’s next.

Naga Chaitanya – Kalyan Krishna’s Ra Randoi Veduka Chudham has ended its run worldwide with a distributor share of 25.65 Cr. The film is a profitable venture in domestic markets and a loss venture overseas. This is the first solo film for the hero to collect over 25cr share. Best performing areas of the film are Nizam, UA and East. It is last success of the summer this year and concluded it on a good note.

Chaitu’s ‘RaRandoi Veduka Chuddham’ – Overseas Profit Share Report

Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Rakul preet singh starrer ‘Ra Randoi Veduka Chudham’ had collected a gross of $549,300 in USA by the end of its full run. Due to Naga Chaitanaya’s craze and Annapurna studio’s reputation, the film opened decently in USA with first weekend gross of $370K, but couldn’t sustain its performance in subsequent days-weeks and ended up at $550,000 mark.

Chaitu and Rakul Preet did a commendable job with their performances, but the weak narration and predictable plot had dented the film’s collections. Overall, USA share for this film is a low $210,000 [ 1.36 crores] and overseas profit loss analysis is as follows :

Overseas distributors of RRVC anticipated it to repeat ‘Premam’ magic (which has collected a cool $830K) and shelled out hefty price. After acquiring overseas rights, they had sold RRVC for 30 Lakhs ,to third parties, in non-USA markets. In USA market, they had sold up to 40% of the areas to the local exhibitors and released 60% areas on their own.

All in all, Overseas distributor had lost to the tune of 80 to 85 lakhs on ‘Rarandoi Veduka Chuddham’. Local exhibitors’ loss is additional to this.

With the new pay structure, RRVC is able to collect mere $210,000 share out of its $550K gross in USA

After the Baahubali 2 storm, none of the recent films were able to make an impact at the overseas box office. Naga Chaitanya’s family drama Ra Randoi Veduka Choodam had a slightly better run compared to other films that released in the last couple of weeks.

Ra Randoi Veduka Choodam, which collected $ 370K in its first weekend, had a disappointing second weekend with just $ 16k( Fri), $ 15K(Sat) and $ 9K(Sun), taking the total past half million mark ($ 520K).

Raj Tharun’s comedy caper ‘Andhagaadu’ is having a dismal show in overseas. The film registered poor figures in its first weekend( below $ 5K ) and it will not recover the expenses.

Director Vamshi’s Fashion Designer is also heading towards becoming a big disaster in overseas.

Baahubali 2 continue to rake in some decent figures even in the 6th week. The film managed to collect $ 19.5 K ( Fri) , $ 25K( Sat) and $ 21K ( Sun).

RRVC hits half million in overseas

Akkineni Naga Chaitanya starer Ra Randoi Veduka Chudham has hit the half million mark in overseas by the end of second Saturday. After a decent first weekend with $ 370K, the film didn’t perform on par with the good word of mouth on weekdays. The Kalyan Krishna directional started the second weekend on a slow note with a meagre $ 16K on Friday.

In its second Saturday, the family drama managed to collect just $ 15K, taking the total past the half million mark. The film is still a long way from the break even mark. This is the third film in Chaitu’s career after Manam and Premam to clock half million dollars in overseas.

RRVC opens strongly in Telugu states

Akkineni Naga Chaitanaya’s Ra Randoi Veduka Chudham released amidst a lot of positive vibes and good expectations, thanks to the good pre release promotions from Annapurna Studios.

The clean slate family entertainer took a strong opening on its first day in the Telugu states. Trade reports revealed that the opening day figures are very promising in all areas as there are good occupancies in A centres. Despite a wafer thin storyline and a rehash of a many family entertainers, RRVC benefitted largely from the fine performances of the lead pair. The next couple of days will be very crucial to decide the fate of film’s box office prospects.

Directed by Kalyan Krishna, the film has its music score done by Devi Sri Prasad.

Two much awaited trailers to release today

As the Baahubali storm slows down slightly, a bunch of medium budget films gear up to test their luck at the box office. Nikhil’s Keshava and Naga Chaitanaya’s Ra Randoi Veduka Choodam are gearing up release in the next two weeks. Both these films are carrying good reports from inside sources. Coincidentally, the trailers of both these films will be unveiled today.

Nikhil’s Keshava garnered good hype with its intriguing teaser and striking posters. The Sudheer Varma directional is tipped to be a gripping thriller laced with adequate commercial values. Pelli Choopulu fame Ritu Varma is the film’s leading lady. The film is slated to hit the screens on May 19th.

Naga Chaitanaya’s RRVC is also one of the eagerly awaited films this season. The family entertainer is generating good hype for its refreshing posters and the heart warming songs that were released a few days back. Kalyan Krishna is the director and Rakul Preet Singh the leading lady. The film is set for release on May 26th.

Single from Chaitu’s RRVC strikes the right chord

Following the trend of releasing songs through social media as a part of the promotions, the first single of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film Raa Randoi Veduka Choodam was unveiled yesterday evening by Nagarjuna.

The title song is finely composed by Devi Sri Prasad and has evocative lyrics penned by Ramjogayya Sastry. Its a situational song which describes the festive ambience that surrounds a traditional marriage. Singers Ranjitha and Gopika Poornima did a fabulous job with their endearing vocals. DSP doesn’t go over board but rendered a foot tapping tune to make this a superlative number in the album. This celebratory song struck the right chord with music lovers as soon as it was released.

Directed by Kalyan Krishna, the film stars Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead. The film is slated for May 26th release.
