Sania Mirza shares life lessons she learnt from healthcare workers

0

The past year and a half has been challenging for each one of us not only across the nation, but all over the world. This time has also given a new meaning to humanity with many coming forward to help those in need on-ground and online, affirming that there truly are angels on earth. Through it all, it is our doctors, and healthcare workers who have been our pillars of support and strength, many of whom have lost their lives, leaving their loved ones and dreams behind.

Opening up about the lessons she has learnt from our doctors and healthcare workers, popular sports personality Sania Mirza shared, “While this has been a time of uncertainty, it has surely been a time of learning and reflection for me. Our doctors and healthcare workers have taught me how care is the essence of humanity, and how it will help us rise above the challenges we face. When I see their selflessness, I am reminded that in life there will be many ups and downs, but it’s up to us to be brave and fearless and help those around us with love and care as we are at our best when we are giving back to others.”

She added: “Even after training for years, there’s a fear of the unknown before entering the court for a match and I can’t imagine the strength that enabled our healthcare workers to face this pandemic head on and be brave for all of us.”

Sania Mirza recently joined the Vicks #TouchOfCare under which the brand launched a film that tells the inspiring story of the late Dnyaneshwar Bhosle and his selfless care for the children in his village.

Sania says the new film moved her and made her realize that there is so much transformative power in care and the story of Dnyaneshwar Bhosale is a representation of the selfless acts of care of each one of those we lost, and those that are fighting to keep all of us safe.

As a mother herself, touched by the courage displayed by Priyanka Bhosale to keep the Late Bhosale’s #TouchOfCare alive, Sania further shares: “Seeing Priyanka Bhosale’s courage, I was extremely overwhelmed and I just want to send my prayers to her and many others with healthcare workers in the family. I stand in solidarity with each of them and my heart is humbled to be part of a country that is home to these beautiful souls. The fight isn’t over but we will conquer this if we listen to the wise words of our medical workers, get vaccinated and take all the precautions to keep us and those around us safe. I want to encourage each one of you to show kindness towards our healthcare workers and doctors and keep their touch of care alive in whatever way we can.”

Sania slams ‘cringeworthy’ ads ahead of India-Pak WC clash

0

Tennis star Sania Mirza is fed up of the “cringeworthy” advertisements which are hyping the World Cup encounter between India and Pakistan to be played in Manchester on Sunday.

The TV channels in both the countries have been putting out promotional advertisements for the much-anticipated, high-octane encounter between the arch rivals.

India’s Star TV has been running an advertisement where an Indian supporter describes himself as Pakistan’s “abbu” (father), referring to India’s domination over their rivals in the showpiece event.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Jazz TV has used a spoof of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to create hype over the match. In the 33-second video, a character impersonating Abhinandan, can be seen mimicking the Air Force pilot who was captured by the Pakistan Army after the Balakot air strike.

Visibly frustrated by the advertisements, Sania took to Twitter and said that there was no need to “hype up” the India-Pakistan match with rubbish.

“Cringeworthy ads on both sides of the border. Seriously guys, you don’t need to ‘hype up’ or market the match anymore specially with rubbish! It has enough attention already! It’s only cricket for God sake, and if you think it’s anymore than that then get a grip or get a life!!” tweeted Sania on Wednesday.

India have an excellent record against Pakistan in World Cups. Both the teams have met six times before in the prestigious quadrennial event and on all occasions, the Men in Blue have emerged victorious.

Raja Singh’s sensational remarks on Sania Mirza

0

Hyderabad: BJP MLA Raja Singh has demanded the TRS government to scrap Sania Mirza from the state brand ambassador post. The lone BJP MLA in Telangana has released a video message addressing Telanganites and termed Sania Mirza as a bahu (daughter-in-law) of Pakistan.

“My dear Telanganites, our chief minister K Chandrashekhar Raoji has appointed Sania Mirza as the state brand ambassador. She is a bahu of Pakistan and belongs to that country. Considering the brutal attack of Pakistan terrorists on our military convoy, how can we accept her as our brand ambassador? I request KCR to remove Sania Mirza from the post and appoint either PV Sindhu or Saina Nehwal,” Raja Singh said in his video message.

Supporting the decision of KCR not to celebrate birthday, Raja Singh has further stated that India and other organisations have withdrawn all the support and affiliations with Pakistan.

When the entire country is mourning over brutal attack of our jawans, Sania Mirza has posted her dresses on social media. When it was trolled, Sania expressed her intolerance and this has further turned out to be another point of criticism.

Raja Singh won from Goshamahal Assembly constituency in Hyderabad and he’s the only one elected out of the 119 seats that BJP contested for in December 2018 elections.
