Nagarjuna ready to take risk with inexperienced director

Seasoned actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has been drawing fire from his fans for his poor choice of scripts. After Soggade Chinni Nayana and Oopiri, he failed to deliver a decent film in the last couple of years. He is currently busy shooting for a couple of bilingual multi-starrer films.

Reports suggest that Nagarjuna has agreed to team up with inexperienced director Rahul Ravindran for the sequel to his popular hit Manmadhudu which released in 2002. Sources revealed that Nag has given in principle nod to the project and it may be launched in January. The film is going to be a romantic comedy that will suit Nag’s age and mannerisms. Annapurna Studios will bankroll the film.

It is a known fact that Rahul Ravindran made his directional debut with Chi La Sow earlier this year and it was presented by Nag. His sensible presentation got a thumbs up from audience and critics alike. But the question is can he recreate the magic of Manmadhudu again with Nagarjuna’s present image and current trend ? Isn’t it a risky attempt to touch a classic comedy after 15 years ? We have to wait and see.
