Pulivendula assembly segment in Kadapa district is known as the stronghold of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Jaganmohan Reddy family for many decades. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has set his sights on this segment after silently doing lot of work in the past five years. The foremost factory working in favour of the TDP is that Naidu made sure to provide irrigation water to Pulivendular from Srisailam project via Gandikota reservoir.
CBN has meticulously tightened his party grip over the segment. This is the seat which has played a crucial role in YSR’s successful political career through ups and downs. The TDP is of the opinion that the Pulivendula voters have sentimentally attached themselves to YSR family though their living conditions have not changed for better at any point of time. The TDP has changed it now by ensuring proper supply of water for crops there.
The farmers of the segment are smiling these days as they are able to grow crops. When there is a shortage of water, they have petitioned CM who has set things right. With the changed outlook of people, the TDP is hoping to increase its chances to win Pulivendula with the help of some strong second rung leaders there.
