Even die-hard friends of YSR say that it’s not easy to work with his son Jaganmohan Reddy. They know well how Jagan arrogantly misused power at that time. But the YCP MLAs were unaware of this. They were very enthusiastic about working with Jagan after the party came to power with a resounding victory. In just three and half months, most of these MLAs have lost their hopes and became a dejected lot. They cannot give any advice nor can they get things done in the government. This has reached such a point that even TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu commented on their unhappiness.
Usually, Opposition leader doesn’t talk about satisfaction levels of MLAs when the ruling party has a huge majority. It’s because such statements would provoke ruling party leaders. But the scene has reversed now. Many YCP leaders are happy at Naidu comments because it has been true.
There are more than one reason why YCP MLAs are desperate. For over nine years, these YSR family loyalists had to suffer politically and financially. Prior to 2019 election, Jagan promised to give them free hand to recover all their losses after coming to power. Now, power is in their hands but Jagan is not giving any chance to take advantage. Moreover, these MLAs have take lectures on clean leadership without corruption.
