Hyderabad: Now, it’s confirmed that Anakapalli TDP MP Avanti Srinivas (Muthamshetty Srinivasa Rao) has joined YSRCP in the presence of YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy, other leaders Dharmana Prasada Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana, Amanchi Krishnamohan, etc, at Lotus Pond office. YSRCP is reportedly assuring him of party ticket from Bhimili. Avanti has resigned from TDP and as Lok Sabha member as well, and sent resignation letters to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
Avanti wanted to contest from Assembly instead of Lok Sabha. TDP minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao is sitting MLA from Bhimili. This has almost dimmed his chances of getting Bhimili Assembly ticket from TDP and forced him to join YSRCP. On just Bhimili ticket only, Avanti held a series of meetings with YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered for an enquiry on corruption charges of one MLA in Andhra Pradesh. This enquiry has brought our bitter truths about unlimited corruption practices across the state. That’s why the Centre didn’t honour the demands putforth by the TDP government. However, at this juncture, I don’t want to reveal the name of that corrupt MLA. As per YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s direction only, I resigned as Lok Sabha member. Chandrababu Naidu is just banking on his welfare schemes, but they’re just eyewashing only as they don’t resolve the long-term problems of poor people,” said Avanti.
He further lambasted Naidu for his opportunistic practices, while referring his comments on Pawan Kalyan. “When Pawan Kalyan supported TDP, Naidu said he was a good leader. When Pawan Kalyan questioned him, Naidu terms him as a bad politician. I advised Naidu to let’s all TDP MPs resign for the cause of special status, when YSRCP MPs resigned. But, Naidu didn’t listen to me,” remarked Avanti.
