Not taking any chances, the BJP national leadership is not hesitating to refuse tickets to even sitting MPs if they have no winning chances. The party has decided to bring in film stars and celebrities to ensure its victory. As part of this, the BJP has already shortlisted actress Madhuri Dixit for giving ticket to contest in Pune parliamentary constituency.
The BJP leaders are already discussing with Madhuri and her family members to convince them. There has been tough competition between BJP, Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra politics. The BJP is making all efforts to increase its strength. It set its sights on celebrities to take advantage of their popularity while Bollywood film personalities maintain an active relationship with every party.
For Madhuri Dixit, the political opportunity comes at a time when she has retired from active film life. She stayed from a few years in the US after marriage but now she came back and settled in Mumbai. As her name still weaves magic among the general masses, the BJP has moved quickly to win her over its side. The rival parties have begun making their strategies for the 2019 elections which are fast becoming a battle royale with Congress becoming uniting force for all anti-BJP parties across the country.
