Case filed against Actress and former Congress Member of Parliament Ramya alias Divya Spandana for her tweet on PM Modi. Case is filed in Gomtinagar Police station in Uttar Pradesh.
Ramya acted in Telugu film Abhimanyu, starring Kalyan Ram. She acted in Tamil and Kannada films and later joined Congress. She is the chief of Congress’ social media wing. She recently tweeted a photoshopped photograph of PM Modi painting “chor” on his wax statue with a hashtag “Chor PM Chup Hai”. After seeing this, a Lucknow-based lawyer Syed Rizwan Ahmad filed case on her under Section 67 of The Information Technology Act and sedition act of the Indian Penal Code.
Lawyer claimed that he initially requested her to remove the post but she refused. He argued that this was an attack on the Indian Republic and the Prime Minister of the country. As of now, Ramya took it easy with the case. But we will have to wait and see for further developments on this case.
