Centre eyeing on TTD? AP Govt. to be a mere spectator?

Going by trustable insider sources, the Central Government is eyeing big on the prestigious Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam. Bureaucrats who wished not to be named disclosed that the Central Government is trying to bring the TTD Temple on Tirumala under ‘Conservation of Heritage Buildings’.

If the TTD and its associated temples are taken up by the Centre, then the AP State Government would lose all its powers on TTD. In fact, it will be limited to a mere spectator/dummy in the coming years.
The Centre has already written a letter to the AP State Government seeking permission to photograph various temples in the state. At the same time, the Archeological Department of India has already stated that it has been receiving complains about the TTD Temple on Tirumala.

‘We received reports stating that the TTD officials are demolishing heritage structures, and replacing them with new constructions. At the same time, there is a clear security lapse in safeguarding the valuables given to Lord Venkateswara by kings. Even the gifts given by the common public are not being kept safely’, said a senior level officer from the Archeological department.

If everything goes according to the plan, a Central Govt. committee will soon inspect the TTD and its associated temples, and submit a report. The decision will be at the Centre’s disposal. If the AP Govt. doesn’t act fast, we might well lose our iconic Lord Venkateswara to the Centre.
