Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy may hold a meeting to discuss on the proposed Banakacharla Project, which is turning into a serious interstate issue.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy speaking to media in national capital Delhi on Friday, expressed his opinion to meet his counterpart in AP, stressing that Banakacharla-Godavari issue may be sorted out, if both of them sit and talk.
Though Telangana CM Revanth Reddy travelled to Delhi to complain on the Banakacharla Irrigation Project being taken up by AP to Centre, he clarified that he is ready for discussions with AP CM on the issue. He stressed that AP Govt should have consulted Telangana Govt, before submitting Pre Feasibility Report to Centre.
Even Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy speaking to media in New Delhi a day before, hinted at a meeting between AP and Telangana CMs. Uttam said that Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil has expressed willingness to arrange a meeting of two Telugu states CMs, to proceed further on Banakacharla Project.
Even AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has also expressed his inclination to settle matters with Telangana through talks on Banakacharla Project.
With both Telangana and AP CMs ready to indulge in talks and even Centre pitching in, soon a crucial meeting involving Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu may take place.
