It’s well known that the Election Commission and AP Chief Secretary are implementing the election code with much firmness amid allegations of their bias in favour of YCP. As a result, CM Chandrababu Naidu is asserting his power with even greater force. He is very angry that CS LV Subrahmanyam has not reported to him till now. Naidu has now come out with another plan to give tough time to EC and CS. He has decided to hold Cabinet meeting to discuss cyclone Fani damages, drinking water issue and heat wave conditions in the state.
CMO officials wrote about this to CS who has discussed the issue with Chief Electoral Officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi. Now, Dwivedi is expected to take up the matter with the Election Commission seeking its instructions in this regard. In other states, Chief Secretaries are mostly following instructions of CMs without talking much about election code. Due to political reasons, EC has taken a tough stance towards Naidu who in turn is taking every opportunity to embarrass and expose bias of EC, CS and CEO towards the opposition YCP.
