Maverick director Mani Ratnam marks the director of some of the finest films of Indian cinema. However his recent outings could not mint decent figures because of which his recent outing Cheliya has been carrying low buzz before release. Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari are the lead actors in the movie and Cheliya is all set for April 7th release. AR Rahman’s audio album is already topping the music charts and Mani Ratnam along with his team watched the final copy of the Tamil version.
The update is that Mani Ratnam chopped off 7 minutes from the final cut and he suggested the same for the Telugu version too. Cheliya is said to be a romantic entertainer laced with enough dose of action. Cheliya has been awarded clean U certificate from the members of the censor board and popular producer Dil Raju is releasing the film in Telugu. Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies produced the movie.
