Heading PAP is a lucrative offer for opposition members, as that holds cabinet rank, besides all protocol related respects of a minister. In the state assembly, as per traditions PAC Chairman is always being appointed from opposition members.

In the first Telangana assembly, being the main opposition Congress members are natural claimers for this position. Within the two and half years, the third person J Geetha Reddy is heading this house committee. Though she is a senior leader with a long time ministerial experiences, now she is hesitating to continue and expressed her desire to step-down to Jana Reddy. She is showing hear poor health as a reason.

Immediately after elections former Minister Ramireddy Venkata Reddy was appointed as PAC. But he was dead. He was replaced by Narayanakhed MLA Patolla Krishna Reddy, who was also dead later. As a result, now many Congress MLAs are fearing to take up this task fearing that may attracts death.

After taking up this position, Geetha Reddy is also facing health problems. So she seems to be determined to relieve from this position. When Jana Reddy is in search of her replacement, many Congress leaders are declining the offer. First he suggested the name of former minister and legislature party deputy leader B Jeevan Reddy. After his refusal, he moved for another former minister G. Chinna Reddy, who was also not interested.

Though Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is seems to be ready to take up the task, party leaders are not in his favour. Already Congress MLAs are accusing Nalgonda leaders getting all main positions in the party. Both Leader of Opposition and Pradesh Congress Committee President N Uttam Kumar Reddy hails from this area only.
