Hyderabad: Congress party is reportedly thinking of fielding Revanth Reddy in Khammam Parliamentary constituency as the grand-old party wants important leaders to play a key role at the Centre. Congress party has a strong hold in Khammam district. Revanth Reddy, DK Aruna and Jaipal Reddy are main aspirants for the Khammam MP ticket or Mahbubnagar. However, whether local Congress leaders in Khammam district support this new initiative, let’s wait and see.

Congress star campaigner Vijayashanti has clarified that she doesn’t want to contest in Lok Sabha polls, but spearhead the campaign in Telangana highlighting the lapses in the TRS government. Considering the strong TRS in the State, Congress leaders and cadres should work in total coordination for the party, said Rahul Gandhi in the recent brainstorming session at New Delhi.

“All the party leaders, cadres and more importantly local party network should work for the party regardless of whoever the candidate. Had we worked with total coordination, we would have won few more seats in the Assembly elections in Telangana,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Election Commission’s notification for Lok Sabha elections is expected in last week of February or first week of March. Coming to Mahbubnagar MP seat, TRS wants to retain this constituency, from which Jitender Reddy is sitting MP. Revanth Reddy and DK Aruna are strong contenders for Mahbubnagar MP seat, while TRS has decided to field Jitender Reddy again in Mahbubnagar Parliamentary constituency.
