Bollywood film maker Karim Morani was asked to surrender to Telangana Police by Supreme court. Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea of Bollywood film producer Karim Morani challenging the Hyderabad High Court verdict cancelling his bail in a rape case. Karim Morani is an Indian film producer who has produced films like Chennai Express and Ra.One with Sharukh Khan.
Earlier, FIR filed by an aspiring actress alleging that she was raped by the film producer Karim Morani. She alleged that Karim assured her of a role in Chennai express movie but in addition to not giving any role, he raped her several times. Karim’s lawyer explained that there was no rape but it was a consensual sex with the girl. This was strongly opposed by the victim’s counsel.After hearings, Hyderabad High Court cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to Karim Morani in this rape case. So the producer moved to Supreme court.
The Supreme Court on Friday declined to interfere with an order passed by the Hyderabad High Court and dismissed Karim Morani’s appeal challenging the Hyderabad High Court verdict. SC asked the producer to surrender before the Telangana police as ordered by the High Court.
