There is lot of attention on Kukatpally constituency this time, mainly because TDP surprised everyone by fielding Nandamuri Suhasini, daughter of Nandamuri Hari Krishna, in this constituency. So, many media houses, survey agencies are trying to catch the pulse of people here. Kapu representatives from this constituency spoke to media and they informed that their community is rallying behind TRS this time and they also explained reasons for that. There have been kapu meetings happening in the constituency on the pretext of “Karthika maasam vana bhojanam”.

It is known news that in Kukatpally, out of 3 lakh plus voters it has, there around 13,000 belonging to Kamma community, 22,000 belonging to Reddy community and 64,000 voters belonging to Kapu community. It has significant chunk of Muslims and BCs too. As per the representatives from Kapu community, this community voters will support the TRS this time. The community feels that instead of preferring a non-local TDP leader like Nandamuri Suhasini belonging to the Kamma community, it is better to support a local leader who can address the local issues and let their businesses thrive, their representatives told the media. They added that, even AP residents who own lands in Telangana were beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu scheme. They also told, “Our community of Kapus, Balijas, Turpu and Munnur Kapus will extend support to the TRS because there were no law and order issues in the past four-and-a-half years.” Another representative told, “We cannot forget how they (Congress and TDP) used leaders like Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. In Kukatpally they are targeting only one caste, but people of Seemandhra will block the minds of those leaders.” Other representative told to media that “Because there are not many jobs in AP, people are returning to Hyderabad due to safe environment created by the TRS government.”

Though the representatives from Kapu community saying that they all will rally behind TRS, we will have to wait and see if all the people of their community vote in the same pattern or not.
